Shroff could only be maintained by the presence at his desk

throughout the day of another officer.

2. Refunds are paid out by the Shroff, to the person entitled, who signs a receipt on the warrant or distraint. 3. A chedk could only be kept in the manner stated in 1. The debtor receives a Treasury receit.

4. Mr. Melbourne checks his cash and books from time to

time; I have done so only once. I do not think that the

Auditor, previous to last month, has done so since I have

been Registrar.

that he did.

8. Mr. Melbourne states:- "Debtors occasionally bring in a

portion of their execution debts, in which case the execution creditor or his solicitor is asked whether he will accept it on account. If he consents the money is kept by the Shroff until he comes for it, an entry of the amount paid being

made on the execution.
